About Baluster

Baluster and its sister companies form a group of family-owned enterprises located in North Central Arkansas. Cornerstone brands include Stone County Ironworks, Urban Forge, UrbanFX, and EarthStraw. 

While over 90% of production is domestic, as it has been for over 40 years, UrbanFX-branded lighting and control systems, and other high-speed manufacturing operations are in South China, where the company operates a nimble supply chain on the ground.

It was this supply chain that the State of Arkansas called upon to help source, vet, produce, and transport much needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the Arkansas Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force. Governor Asa Hutchinson even helped unload the first shipment!

Within 14 days, Baluster successfully delivered the first of many millions of high-quality FDA certified, low cost PPE goods to the State of Arkansas.

Navigating treacherous conditions in China, they deployed creative work-arounds to crack the code on rapid, high volume transport systems to quickly move available PPE goods out of the country. Baluster has since built trusted relationships with several committed, large factories in China, to secure production at scale, while successfully navigating the rapidly changing regulatory constraints, and diminishing supply of goods and transport options.
